Healthy Matcha powder

Healthy Matcha powder

Did you already heard about the healthy Matcha powder? I really do love it and I will explain you also why. But first, let me explain you what is Matcha and where does it come from? It is specially grown and processed green tea. The traditional Chinese and Japanese tea ceremony centers on the preparation, serving, and drinking of matcha as hot tea and embodies a meditative spiritual style. In modern times, matcha also has come to be used to flavor foods. For example matcha lattes, green tea ice cream or soba noodles.

And why is matcha so healthy?

  • Antioxidants
  • Weight Loss
  • Energy
  • Sweet
  • Optimal Detox
  • EGCG (cancer fighter)

Finally, I would like to come back and answer the question, why I do love the Matcha powder. This healthy, green, magic powder is my perfect start in the day. Every morning I drink a teacupful of Matcha and it gives me enough energy to go trough the day. Furthermore, I do love the taste of Matcha! I really recommend to try this magical green powder! 🙂

If you are planning to run a long distance, it is very important to have enough energy. Below I describe two possibilities of foods while running:

  1. Raisins: Raisins contain lots of sugar, which is exactly what you need to keep you going when your energy reserves are low.
  2. Energy Gels: Small packets of energy gels, which you can suck down while on the run. They are a great source of energy.

Foods before running

Foods before running

Before you go to run, it is very important to get enough energy. This is possible with the right selection of foods.

Read below, which foods are recommended:

  1. Bananas are filled with natural sugar, which your body will burn for energy.
  2. Low fat yoghurt is rich in calcium, protein and carbs. The calcium will help to promote healthy fat burning, the protein will provide the fuel for your muscles and the carbs will give you energy you need.
  3.  Bagels are much heavier and richer in carbs than your average slice of bread, so they give you a lot more energy to burn.
  4. Berries are good for a quick energy boost. They are like little balls of healthy sugar and they contain lots of Vitamin C to keep your body working at top speed.

Tasty Water

Tasty Water

Another delicious summer drink – easy to make and it was also extremly refreshing during the short but hot period in Switzerland. Put the raspberries, blackberry, currant and blueberries with a handful of fresh mint leaves into your water to create an incredible mix of flavours, which I think you’ll love – it just tastes like summer!

recipe:
– 1 punnet of frozen raspberries

– 1 punnet of frozen blackberry

– 1 punnet of frozen currant

– 1 punnet of frozen blueberries

– a handful of mint leaves

I use frozen berries to keep the water cool. To add strawberries is a further option to give your summer drink a personal touch.

Pimp up your water

Pimp up your water

This is one of the best summer drinks, it’s so cooling and refreshing, and so delicious – it’s been my saviour over the last few weeks as it’s been so hot in Bern! The lemon slices and fresh mint all infuse into your water to create an incredible mix of flavours, which I think you’ll love – it just tastes like summer! I love making a big jug of this and keeping it in the fridge all day so that I can enjoy it any time, or if I’m out and about all day I’ll sometimes fill a big water bottle with this mix so that I stay hydrated all day and I never forget to drink water this way as it’s so delicious!

recipe:

– 1/2 lemon

– a handful of mint leaves
